EXPLORE FELDENKRAIS YOURSELF
The method can be experienced in two formats: ATM (Awareness Through Movement) and FI (Functional Integration).
Both are considered lessons because of the neurological learning process that takes place in the brain and body.
ATM
Awareness Through Movement
Where we guide our own movements
FI
Functional Integration
Individual sessions in which the practitioner gently guides our movements.
Awareness Through Movement – ATM
Group lessons
In these verbally directed lessons, students are guided through a sequence of movements that can be explored in a playful and curious way. They are designed to enhance our body awareness, musculoskeletal organization, coordination and self-image.
During these approximately hour-long lessons – usually done lying down, but sometimes also sitting or standing – participants are invited to try simple, varied, and occasionally unusual movements. These explorations help to improve both the range and quality of the movements.
The aim is to move with relaxed attention and in full comfort, enriching the communication between brain and body and creating the optimal conditions for a neurological learning process.
ATM lessons take place in groups, either in person or online. They can also be taught individually online. Seminars are topic-focused double sessions.
Functional Integration – FI
Personalised individual session
A one-on-one lesson in the Feldenkrais Method takes place in comfortable clothing, often lying down, but also sitting or standing. Each session is tailored to the specific needs of the individual. Through gentle touch and supported movements, the practitioner establishes a communication with the nervous system.
The focus is on cultivating awareness of the musculoskeletal system – its posture, organisation and habitual movement patterns.
Exercising sensitivity and precision, the teacher uses their hands to explore the current movement possibilities and perceives subtle, often unconscious muscular tensions. With gentle support, these tensions can soften, allowing the range of motion to expand and new movement options to emerge. As the lesson proceeds, functional connections throughout the body become clearer, and the natural support of the skeletal structure becomes more engaged, tangible and available in the everyday movement.

The aim is a body that is organized to move with minimum effort and maximum efficiency, not through muscular strength, but increased consciousness of how it works.
